Welcome! Everything is fine.
Uploading. . . Complete!
The Lobby.
- When you open your eyes, there is quite a lot of beige to take in. The unassuming walls of the room you've found yourself in are barren save for a single motivational poster directly in your line of sight. An illuminated sign above an open door on the far wall reads 'lobby exit.'
"Welcome," chimes a polite, synthesized voice. "I'm happy you're here." A moment later comes the clarity of the situation: you died and so did the world you came from. "This is Amani, your new reality," continues The Peacekeeper. "Everything will be fine."
At least you aren't the only one here, you'll soon find out, as others who are just as confused and concerned as you are mingling in the main hub's first floor. Hopefully, you find a familiar face among the crowd. If not, that's all right. You'll get to know quite a few people very well soon enough.
- If you're one of the unlucky few whose death required a bit more intensive re-coding to maintain stability in the simulation, you'll instead awaken on a bed in the infirmary. Everything is strikingly white save for the occasional string of vines with lavender growing in bursts to help keep people calm. Whether or not it works seems to be on a case-by-case basis.
While there is no active medical staff, the voice of The Peacekeeper is there to explain the situation in a more delicate manner to these individuals. It's already stressful enough having to have gone through such a violent death, after all!
If characters want more questions answered, they'll need to speak to The Peacekeeper directly. But first, it will encourage socialization in the main hub and hopefully, you'll find someone you recognize to make taking things in a little easier.

MAY I OFFER YOU...
Throughout the main hub where everyone congregates, a light chiming echoes through the first floor. "Hello, everyone," comes the synthetic voice from when you first arrived. "Please, mind our mess as we are undergoing construction for a new addition to the main hub. If you'd like, there is cake, some refreshments, and some eggs for you in these trying times."
While the Peacekeeper doesn't elaborate, it doesn't have to. Simulation inhabitants throughout Amani will have no doubt noticed the abundance of crystal eggs that have been populating throughout the simulation.
While they come in different colors that have their own unique influence, the eggs themselves will generally call forth nesting instincts in those that come across them. They'll want to care for them, make their home just right for the new hatchling, and generally fuss until things are perfect.
If the party and its cake don't appeal to you, that's perfectly fine. This is the perfect time to configure your Digitized Technical Friend or your DTF status. A DTF is similar to a dæmon from His Dark Materials in that it is connected to and a reflection of a character's soul. These DTFs take shape accordingly and are projections similar to the NPCs. Think of them as your own personal Clippy except less annoying. Hopefully.
Once that's set-up, there are other locations of the main hub to investigate! You can still find an (off-key) instrument to play in the music lounge or check out the (algae-ridden) pool.
You can even visit The Peacekeeper themselves on the second floor. They're always happy to have visitors! They're also conveniently where you might place a complaint about that status of the main hub and its amenities.
Or, you might want to visit that under construction area that was mentioned. It will be clearly marked off with tape and "Do Not Enter" signs but those won't stop you. Why would they? Even if you can read, who cares! Beyond the doors, there is a massive drop just a few paces in as the floor isn't yet finished. Mind your step!
What is finished of the floor though appears to be a ballroom. On the far wall, in the dim unfinished lighting, there also appear to be masks and fancy clothes hanging on a rack. You can try to jump the gap and get a better look if you dare... but it is impressively large. It might not be worth the risk considering there doesn't appear to be a bottom to the pit that you can see.
Huh. Just what is The Peacekeeper planning?

- ★ Red Garnet » Eggs made out of this crystal give off waves of warmth and soothes whoever is close by. It's hard to stay angry or irate when in close proximity! As one might have guessed from the color alone, this egg will also strengthen love and sexuality of anyone in its presence.
★ Aquamarine » Brilliantly blue and comfortingly cool, these eggs will help someone feel safe and let go of their worries. Whatever those may be There is a stronger sense of trust between individuals in proximity to this crystal as well as enhanced feelings of protectiveness (but in a good way)!
★ Citrine » As bright as a ray of sunshine, it reflects a joyfulness that can't be denied. This egg will lighten spirits, help you see things in a positive life, and call good fortune forth whenever it's around.
★ Zoisite » While this egg may look a bit sickly, it makes those near it feel anything but. In fact, this egg promotes self-awareness and reflecting on recent events. How have your experiences helped you grow? Maybe it's time to consider that!

COMPLIMENTS OF CORRIN
As part of the wishes granted by The Peacekeeper during the picnic it hosted, it has analyzed everyone's favorite meals. Yes, even you despite being brand new! It has your whole mind on file, after all, and so finding that information isn't actually difficult.
No matter where they take up residence, once they wake up their said favorite meal is prepared for them and exactly the way they like it. In addition to the meal will be a small, fragile paper egg. Once cracked, confetti will spill out and a paper note. This note is filled with words of praise for them, compliments, or anything that they might need to hear to feel good for the rest of the day. It can be long or short, corny or vague but, ultimately it is crafted exclusively to make the recipient feel warm and special.
It is a wish born of love for fellow simulation inhabitants and hopefully that's conveyed. Hopefully, it comforts them and carries them well throughout their day. Whether new or old, they'll know from the moment they wake up that that they're important, valued, and special.
The notes themselves are anonymous and no hints will be given as to who is responsible for the kind gesture. The Peacekeeper will not take credit themselves if asked but instead say that it was a wish of an inhabitant and leave it at that.
While this is definitely a nicer way to start your day, it doesn't change the leaky roof or broken window in your new place. No, unfortunately that will still need to be fixed the peaceful way. If you'd like more lighting or even cozier clothes, simulation inhabitants are reminded that 'peaceful interactions' are very important! It might be a good idea to stick close to someone you know, for now, since even the smallest amounts of intimacy might see subtle changes occurring where they're staying. Perhaps that broken window is now fixed, the grime and dust seem a little less, or the floor doesn't creak quite as loud.
Larger changes, however, will only come after demonstrating the more powerful peaceful interactions. If you want new hardwood floors or a fresh coat of paint on the walls, you're going to have to demonstrate how well you 'get along' with others against them first.

PIXIES VS. GNOMES
Ah, Spring! A time to clean out the old and bring in the new. In order to assist inhabitants with this process, The Peacekeeper has enlisted help of pixies. These creatures usually hibernate during the winter months and awaken once it truly begins to warm up. Although normally known for being tricksters, that isn't the case here in Amani!
... Mostly. These pixies are here to help clean your place out. Of course, they might be a little too helpful. Hey, don't be mad! How were they supposed to know you needed that shirt? It didn't look like it was necessary. Nothing of yours really does, they'll say, and so you'll find items missing left and right as the pixies take flight.
But not to fret! In addition to pixies, another creature of spring that are now alert and lively again after a long winter snooze are gnomes. They look like regular plastic garden gnomes when one is looking but glance away and they'll suddenly be in a new spot or position. They'll be happy to retrieve your items back from those thieving, mischievous pixies. They're mortal enemies, after all, and happy to do anything that might set back the pixies' efforts to keep things orderly. How boring!
The only catch? They don't really know what belongs to who. That journal of your innermost thoughts? Yeah, it's shown up across the simulation in the house of someone you probably never wanted to see it! Hopefully, the pixies didn't swipe anything too embarrassing...
Also, don't be surprised if a gnome or two decides to take up residence in your place in exchange for their services. While mostly harmless, they do seem to get a kick out popping up in unexpected places to give the inhabitants a small fright.

If you're wondering about these 'peaceful interactions' that keep being mentioned or what the kinks of the month are for... Here's your answer! Upon arrival, all characters will receive a digital copy of their very own sexy stamp card.
Completing peaceful interactions (i.e. kinks) will reward characters with stamps that they can turn in for re-gains and many other things! While the example one here is the standard issued card by The Peacekeeper, players are more than welcome to customize it how they see fit. Have fun with it!NOTES

★ The flora and fauna page will be updated to include the pixies and gnomes soon. It's also still open for player suggestions! All you need to do now is link your check-in (or player claim) comment to make a submission!
★ If your character decides to try and jump the gap in the unfinished ballroom, you can ask what will happen in the questions/feedback thread! Also, if you have any questions about anything else- That's where they go!

Dorothea Arnault | Fire Emblem: Three Houses (erku crau)
[ Dorothea is calm, all things considered. She probably should be a little concerned, getting shunted from one world to the next, but y'know, being adaptable is part of the reason she's still alive so for now she'll just go with the flow. If this place is anything like the last place she lived, then the food and drinks are definitely spiked, but she's not going to let herself starve either. Without putting too much thought into it, she picks up a piece of lemon cake (and garnet egg for good measure, because why not?) and finds a seat where she can observe people as they mill around and mingle. Maybe she'll spot a few familiar faces? Plenty of her classmates had lived on Erku--maybe some of them are here, too.
The cake is definitely spiked, she decides after a few bites, but in a way that makes her feel... cheerful? Uplifted? But also soothed and comforted. That last part is the egg, of course, not the cake, not that the distinction matters to her at the moment. ]
Have you tried this cake? It's delicious. Come on, sit down and have a bite.
2. the sound of music
[ The facility's music room isn't the grandest she's ever seen, but what could be grander than the Mittelfrank? She picks up the first stringed instrument she sees, and while she doesn't recognize it, the thing looks enough like a lute for her to begin plucking at the strings, working out the chords as she slides her fingers down its neck. It's obviously out of tune, so she begins to turn the pegs and tighten the strings. It takes a few minutes on the unfamiliar instrument, but eventually it's tuned to her satisfaction.
Her voice is bright and clear when she begins to sing the opening bars of an aria she'd performed in her youth, and the sound carries through the room and into the nearby corridors. Dorothea didn't spend eight years in the opera not to be able to be heard from half a mile away. She doesn't even stop when she notices someone approaching, at least until she reaches a natural break in the song. ]
Do you like music? I could play another song if you'd care to hear one.
2!
But what he hears coming out of that room today is anything but terrible. It's beautiful. ...and it's familiar, though he can't put his finger on why, exactly.
Not until he walks in to see Dorothea there.
The last time he saw Dorothea was in Enbarr. On the wrong side of a battlefield. He didn't get a chance to interact with her there - didn't even get to see whether she survived by the end. Well, if she's here, she's probably dead...although he has no idea what kind of Fodlan this Dorothea remembers. He remembers sparring with her at the monastery, before the war; how she surprised him with her skill and the glimpses of the real Dorothea he saw behind the insincerity. He remembers her dragging him to tea with her, and being surprised about how enjoyable that was, too.
And he remembers when she caught him practicing his dancing late at night when he thought no one would bother him, and he thought she was going to mock him, but instead she helped. He remembers her convincing him to go on just one date with her, just one, and teaching him how to kiss at the end of the night.
And now he doesn't know whether she lived or died. Whether it was one of his own friends, maybe, who cut her down.]
Will the second one be as loud as that one was?
no subject
Yes, or maybe even louder! Opera singers have to be loud enough for their voices to be heard in the back of the theater, over the sound of an orchestra, you know. [ She pauses for a moment. ] You do know I'm an opera singer, don't you?
[ Because she's aware of multiple realities, and that means multiple Felixes existing in this reality and many others. She'd started to get comfortable with the last one she'd spent time with, but that was only after she'd broken his nose. Was this him, or were they back to square one? ]

[ She takes a healthy bite of cake as if to prove her point. The sweetness and tartness of the lemon are perfectly balanced, and the crumb is tender and moist. Drugged or not, she'd eat cake like this every day if she could. ]
What kind of food do you like, then?
Re: Dorothea Arnault | Fire Emblem: Three Houses (erku crau)
Nor had he intended to, in fact--but the odd little squirrel-wyvern DTF perched on his shoulder perks up in visible excitement as Dorothea calls out to him and her voice registers as familiar. Is that--?
It is! His DTF hops off his shoulder to flutter over to Dorothea immediately before Seteth can close the distance, keenly interested in climbing on and sniffing her. Is she okay?]
I can't say I have. It's good to see you again, Dorothea.
[Even if it's not the same one, even if they have to start getting acquainted again from scratch, he does mean that. It's enough just to see she's alive and well.]
no subject
It's good to see you, too, Seteth.
[ She even stands and moves to embrace him, but then she hesitates. ]
I don't suppose you're the Seteth I know, are you? A Golden Deer? We were neighbors.

[There was a bittersweetness with each classmate of Marianne's that appeared to her. For the healer, as much as it was a keen a relief to see them as it was a bitter disappointment for them to be here. It meant that she had failed in her responsibility to look after them. Lorenz had made a fair attempt of convincing her that the Peacekeeper was lying but...this was too odd to not be the afterlife.
Marianne noticed the voice as Dorothea was talking to another person and had made beeline for her, eyes wide with alarm as she tried to get to her before any poor decisions were made.]
Y-You shouldn't eat the cake! [Oh no. Hadn't anyone cared to warn her before now?] It's spiked.
no subject
Mari! Is it spiked? I'd assumed as much, but confirmation is good. They usually are in this kind of place, but it's better to eat than go hungry, don't you think? Oh, but why don't you come and sit with me? Have you been here long? How are you? Your skin is looking radiant.
no subject
[Why is everyone from Fódlan like this? Why is her skin important when Dorothea is sitting there eating spiked cake as if it isn't even slightly unusual?] There are other things to eat that aren't spiked. I gathered mushrooms and I think Claude was hunting for something larger. [That being said, Marianne is still going to sit down because Dorothea asked her and she can't refuse a direct request.] I arrived about four weeks ago.
[She can't help but look Dorothea over in open concern.] Are you feeling alright?
no subject
[ She sets aside the cake on a nearby table to help put Marianne a little more at ease. Dorothea knows how she frets about things, and doesn't want to cause her any more undue anxiety. Instead, she takes Marriane's hands in her own and gives them a reassuring squeeze accompanied by a gentle smile. ]

Dorothea's voice carries in only the way an opera singer's can. It fills the halls nearby of the main hub in a wonderful way. Rose lingers in the door frame of the lounge and watches her performance silently until she's done.
When she stops, Rose gives a light bit of applause and smiles. Just don't mind that it doesn't quite reach her eyes. She knows enough to know who Dorothea is by appearance alone, but... It's okay. It was always a possibility, right? ]
While I definitely wouldn't mind, how about I offer you a song in return? [ Even as she asks, Rose is moving towards the piano in the room. ] If this thing will cooperate with me. It likes to give me a hard time usually.
no subject
I'd love a song! I'm always the entertainer, never the entertained; it'll be nice to hear someone else sing for a change.
[ To that end, she takes a seat, her posture prim, face alight with interest and anticipation. ]

It's good to see you, Dorothea. [ Especially considering his last memories of her from home weren't exactly... pleasant. ] All things considered, that is. [ Since, unless she's from a different timeline, Dimitri might very well be the reason she's here in the first place. ]
no subject
[ See, unlike some of the others here, Dorothea just doesn't believe that all the people who came here did so because they died. She knows she didn't die, so why would that necessarily be the case for everyone else? If this is anything like Erku, she's going to kick back and relax as soon as she finds somewhere to live. ]
The spice cake, hm? I'll have to keep that in mind. This lemon cake is delightful.

Wow. You ... you're amazing as ever, Dorothea! Just how I remember you sounding back at the academy ... [ she draws out a whispy sigh. ] I wish I could sing like you. [ She slowly walks into the room. Hopefully she wasn't intruding. ]
... If you don't mind my company, would you ... sing for me again?
no subject
[ She isn't intruding at all; Dorothea hadn't set out with an audience performance, but she knows the way her voice carries so it isn't exactly a surprise that someone has come to find the source of the sound. She smiles at the bubbly redhead and nods. ]
Of course I'll sing for you, but you shouldn't be so down on your own singing. I always thought your songs were so sweet and cheerful--just like you. There's something wonderful about that.
[ She wouldn't admit it off the cuff, but through the years of working with the opera and everything she'd been through, Dorothea had lost so much of the love she'd once had for the art. Even so, it's such a central part of her identity that she can't completely let it go. What would even be left of her if she lost her musical talent?
No, enough of that train of thought.
This instrument that she's found doesn't really seem meant for accompaniment, but she doesn't want to spend time tuning up any of the others. So, she does the best she can by improvising, strumming along as she begins to sing a lively tune. This time, however, she's in proper performance mode, taking on a character and accompanying the lyrics with a little bit of dance and exaggerated facial expressions.
When she's done, she takes a dramatic bow. ]

[Of course, the thought occurs to Flayn that this Dorothea might not be the one she remembers, the one who joined the Golden Deer and was briefly there in Avalon when Flayn first arrived. This could be a Dorothea who stayed with the Empire, and for all Flayn knows, this Dorothea might hate her.
Even so, she knows now that nothing is as simple as it appears, and if she can become friends with Edelgard, she's certain she can reconnect with Dorothea, too - even one from a different war.
As she approaches, Dorothea can see that she looks a bit different than she used to at Garreg Mach. Her hair is cropped short in a curly, chin-length bob with lavender coloring the bottom edges, and it exposes her ears - particularly since it's held back by a red headband. The outfit and jewelry she's wearing are certainly less...old-fashioned and modest than what she wore at the monastery. (Pierced ears? Unimaginable!) She's even wearing a bit of light makeup and faint perfume, if Seteth is paying attention, and her fingernails are painted gold.]

You were there when I first appeared there, as well, but you vanished soon after, and I have missed you so! I do not suppose you happen to remember such a place yourself?
