TDM #2
Welcome! Everything is fine.
Uploading. . . Complete!
The Lobby.
- When you open your eyes, there is quite a lot of beige to take in. The unassuming walls of the room you've found yourself in are barren save for a single motivational poster directly in your line of sight. An illuminated sign above an open door on the far wall reads 'lobby exit.'
"Welcome," chimes a polite, synthesized voice. "I'm happy you're here." A moment later comes the clarity of the situation: you died and so did the world you came from. "This is Amani, your new reality," continues The Peacekeeper. "Everything will be fine."
At least you aren't the only one here, you'll soon find out, as others who are just as confused and concerned as you are mingling in the main hub's first floor. Hopefully, you find a familiar face among the crowd. If not, that's all right. You'll get to know quite a few people very well soon enough.
- If you're one of the unlucky few whose death required a bit more intensive re-coding to maintain stability in the simulation, you'll instead awaken on a bed in the infirmary. Everything is strikingly white save for the occasional string of vines with lavender growing in bursts to help keep people calm. Whether or not it works seems to be on a case-by-case basis.
While there is no active medical staff, the voice of The Peacekeeper is there to explain the situation in a more delicate manner to these individuals. It's already stressful enough having to have gone through such a violent death, after all!
If characters want more questions answered, they'll need to speak to The Peacekeeper directly. But first, it will encourage socialization in the main hub and hopefully, you'll find someone you recognize to make taking things in a little easier.

IT'S FIVE O'CLOCK SOMEWHERE
Throughout the main hub where everyone congregates, a light chiming echoes through the first floor. "Hello, everyone," comes the synthetic voice from when you first arrived. "Based on feedback from current inhabitants, I was able to gather that the drinks at the bar were awful. Also, based on data so far it seems the desire for alcohol correlates to a person's stress levels! Hopefully, making better drinks might help everyone relax."
At the bar on the first floor, a bartender is now assigned to mix drinks rather than The Peacekeeper themselves. The lacquer countertops have been dusted off so that the screens just beneath the surface can be better seen. Soon as someone sits down, the screen will light up and display a menu of featured drinks.
Unfortunately, due to a lack of resources, each person is only allowed one. That isn't to say you can't share, swap, or find other means to get a taste of a different drink though! Each one even comes with a complimentary slice of cake if you'd like.
While The Peacekeeper knows people are likely hesitant after incidents caused by the cake, part of this special offer is that an order of one of the drinks will come with a credit equivalent to a one-stamp reward. And, if you're lucky, the effects of the drink will get you even more stamps! Everyone wins! Especially you!
The featured drinks are as follows and come in alcoholic and non-alcoholic varieties:
If you're feeling especially 'peaceful' after a piece of cake or two and worried about privacy, don't be! The bar's lounge has several secluded spots to hide away in. There are also rooms with beds on the first floor. So long as you don't mind the natural elements taking up some space along the sheets, they're free to use however you'd like. Though you might want to make sure to lock the door since it's doubtful you're the only one looking to get away for a little bit.
If the party and its cake don't appeal to you, that's perfectly fine. This is the perfect time to configure your Digitized Technical Friend or your DTF status. A DTF is similar to a dæmon from His Dark Materials in that it is connected to and a reflection of a character's soul. These DTFs take shape accordingly and are projections similar to the NPCs. Think of them as your own personal Clippy except less annoying. Hopefully.
Once that's set-up, there are other locations of the main hub to investigate! You can still find an (off-key) instrument to play in the music lounge or check out the (algae-ridden) pool.
You can even visit The Peacekeeper themselves on the second floor. They're always happy to have visitors! They're also conveniently where you might place a complaint about that status of the main hub and its amenities.

- ★ Firecracker » This spicy, sweet, and flaming drink comes in two varieties: red or blue. Each one will cause a person to speak a truth although in different ways.
- • The drink with red flames will cause someone to say something risqué. Was that fantasy only supposed to stay a fantasy? Oops.
• The drink with blue flames, however, will bring out a sadder admission. Something will compel you to share an insecurity or anxiety that you wouldn't otherwise speak aloud. It might be for the best to get it off your chest! Or... it could make things really awkward. Hopefully, it's the former!
★ Hot Buttered Rum » Rather than warm you up, this drink will cause you to feel freezing cold. The only thing that will get you warm seems to be someone else's body heat. While one might not be bothered at first, the longer the cold settles in the more desperate you'll become to relieve it. You'd really like to be able to feel your fingers again. Time to cuddle up!
★ Mojito » This minty, refreshing drink will make your mouth tingle in all the best ways. In fact, you can't seem to curb the desire to want things to bite or suck on and it's strongest when around other people. All you can seem to desire is to taste their lips, scrape your teeth against their skin, or suck on their- Well, you know where we're going with this. The oral fixation will thankfully fade away after a while whether you indulge it or not.

WALKING IN A WINTER WONDERLAND
Once the celebration has concluded, characters are encouraged to head out of the main hub to either explore the city or take a ride on the railway. It's time to truly begin your new reality! Whatever they choose, The Peacekeeper will explain to them that they are free to take up any housing they so wish. Most dwellings are at least habitable but it's likely that characters will want for more before long.
Especially considering the adjustments made to the weather paradigm recently. The Peacekeeper has been informed that it was far too warm for some of the residents. As a result, the temperature has dropped to appropriately align with winter months and the hours of sunlight have now shortened as a result. While the snow currently isn't more than light dusting now and again, that may be subject to change. (At least those pesky flowers from the Love Bugs appear to be dormant for now as a small blessing.)
In order to apologize for the inconvenient and sudden shift in atmosphere, everyone will get a cute new winter accessory to help acclimate to the chillier conditions. Enjoy the cozy new addition to your wardrobe! Or whatever excuse for a wardrobe you're beginning to assemble.
Additionally, candles will spawn throughout the main hub, houses that are inhabited, and pathways that people have been tracked as walking along often. Isn't that romantic and totally not just a convenient way to encourage one of the kinks of the month! Why would you think that?
If you'd like more lighting or even cozier clothes, simulation inhabitants are reminded that 'peaceful interactions' are very important! It might be a good idea to stick close to someone you know, for now, since even the smallest amounts of intimacy might see subtle changes occurring where they're staying. Perhaps that broken window is now fixed, the grime and dust seem a little less, or the floor doesn't creak quite as loud.
Larger changes, however, will only come after demonstrating the more powerful peaceful interactions. If you want new hardwood floors or a fresh coat of paint on the walls, you're going to have to demonstrate how well you 'get along' with others against them first.

FLY AWAY HOME
After The Creators reconfigured the peace parameters and dropped a Giant Bird on everyone in the simulation, The Peacekeeper has tried to come up with its own solution to keep the beast preoccupied. Although still highly aggressive and dangerous, if it has different prey to chase it might not be as much of an issue between spawn periods.
It takes about one week before The Peacekeeper announces its newest creation to Amani: Bunnerflies! These adorable flying creatures are friendly and uplift the moods of anyone they happen to hop or float by. Yet, they are still supposed to be prey for a Giant Bird and it didn't seem fair to leave them completely defenseless. As many of the simulation inhabitants are beginning to find out, appearances can be deeply deceiving.
As a result, their fur may be soft but the edges of their wings are sharp as razor blades. Careful you don't get caught in the path of one fluttering your way.
They also breathe fire! Thankfully, The Peacekeeper has made simulation inhabitants immune to the flames. Sort of. The only type of heat one will feel is that of passion. Whether that means starting a new project or an intense make-out session, it's up to the individual and how they decide to channel it!

SEXY STAMP CARD
If you're wondering about these 'peaceful interactions' that keep being mentioned or what the kinks of the month are for... Here's your answer! Upon arrival, all characters will receive a digital copy of their very own sexy stamp card.
Completing peaceful interactions (i.e. kinks) will reward characters with stamps that they can turn in for re-gains and many other things! While the example one here is the standard issued card by The Peacekeeper, players are more than welcome to customize it how they see fit. Have fun with it!NOTES

★ The kinks of the month have changed! Be sure to check this post for what the new ones are. Also, give a congratulations to Niles (

★ The effects of the drinks can be as heavy or light as you'd like! It can be chalked up to differences in alcohol tolerance, non-humanity or not, etc. etc. Also, they can mixed-and-matched! Have fun with that.
★ Have fun with the winter accessories! Pick whatever goofy thing you'd like your character to wear.
★ The flora and fauna page has been updated to include Bunnerflies and the flowers from the Love Bug event. While dormant right now, Spring is just around the corner! There won't be as many as there were during the event but enough that people will be able to play around with them as they see fit in the future.
★ Any questions can be asked right here!

[How odd. There's a warmth here he hadn't felt only moments ago--and it's trickier to regain his footing than he'd expected it to be. The ground underfoot is slick with slush, not snow. How is.....?
Oh. Oh, she's..... certainly not human. Not that he should be surprised over that, after spending so much time on the island; people there had come from countless different worlds, that no doubt were populated by countless different species. Still, he finds it difficult to look away from that searching gaze until Shyvana herself does, holding up his free hand apologetically.]
Thank you very much. I'm afraid I don't have a destination in mind; I only intended to find somewhere to stay before the weather takes a turn for the worse. I don't suppose you know your way around this town?
no subject
...Still, I will attempt to lead you to some shelter. It is no place for you to be out in this weather.
[Lifting an arm, she extends it out to the stranger.]
Stay close. I can keep you warm.
no subject
[He's at something of a loss, to be honest. She's clearly far better suited to be out in this weather than he is, at least--she's enormous, easily over a foot taller than he, and it feels as though she's radiating heat like a furnace. Just because she can tolerate it more easily doesn't mean she should be roaming about herself, though--after his time on the island, there's no telling if the snow here could harbor an ill magic as well.
Even so, that's no excuse to stand and argue about it out here. Seteth draws near as he's bidden, head tipped back to look up at her. It's none of his business, but given the circumstances.....]
Are you a mage, by chance?
no subject
[But she imagines that much is obvious as she works through the snow with little concern. She does feel the cold, but it hardly impacts her the way it would most other people, clearly.
The question earns a bark of laughter and she looks away.]
It is fair to ask. No, I am not, albeit that hardly stopped the Mageseekers from coming for me.
[There's frustration and bitterness in her voice, and she shakes her head.]
I am a dragon, despite all appearances.
no subject
[Wait, what? For a moment, it feels like his heart stops outright. He had tried to set aside all else to focus on finding shelter, but hearing that--he's not sure what to think, let alone how to feel. A sick, bitter rush of homesickness, an uncertain flicker (unfounded, no doubt--and what is it even for, exactly?) of hope, pure bewilderment, the lingering grip of paranoia and hesitation..... Who are the Mageseekers, and why had they wanted her? In what world do dragons look like her? Should he..... say something? Offer sympathies, at least?
Ordinarily, if he were less out of sorts, he's sure (he thinks, he hopes) he would be more poised in the face of such a revelation. It's not so strange, after all, is it? If the people here come from countless different worlds, odds are good he would meet someone ostensibly of his own kind eventually. Logically, he knows that--but being abruptly confronted with it like this, so soon after waking up and receiving such dire news about the state of the worlds? He's left at a loss.]
no subject
[For her, how else can she interpret the stumble of this man's words? She had worked hard to earn the respect and understanding of many Demacian soldiers in the Dragonguard, and even then there were some that still didn't trust her.
Perhaps in the end... they had the right to be fearful after all. Shyvana's heart was weak enough to fall to ruin, evidently.]
You are safe with me. I can do little else to convince you of that but my word.
no subject
[Can she feel his heart start racing, his shoulders tense before he can stop them, walking so closely together like this? Even considering making such an admission aloud is enough to send adrenaline surging through him. After all this time, all his caution..... it feels unnatural to speak of it. But if what little she's said is any indication, then surely--she must be able to understand, wouldn't she? Their circumstances may not be the same, but they can't be entirely different, either.
Goddess, he doesn't even know her name. Does he really want to trust her with something like this? But..... the Agarthans are dead and gone. Even if they hadn't been wiped out by the destruction of Shambhala, the world ending was surely enough, wasn't it? Who is he even hiding from anymore, at this point?
Seteth's shoulders sag with his sigh. If this is a mistake, then he'll just have to live to regret it; it isn't as though he can die again, after all, and Flayn isn't here to be put in danger.]
Forgive me. I mean no offense, I simply..... hadn't expected to find my own kind in a place like this. It's been some time.

[It's subtle, but that does surprise her. For a moment, Shyvana is quiet, then she smiles hesitantly.]
...Neither did I, truthfully. I have never met another like me. Most the others-- they have been feral, or unwilling to see me as their equal.
I-- hm.
[It's a but overwhelming to meet someone else like this, but it's good. She has found kinship in Corrin, who is sweeter than honey. Now this man.]
My name is Shyvana.
no subject
[Not all of the warmth he feels is the fire magic radiating from her; even still reeling from their circumstances, a subdued smile rises to his lips as well. It might be more, perhaps, if her admission wasn't so troubling; in her world, dragons are feral? Why? How? And what would cause such discord among them that she would be considered somehow lesser? If there's some external threat doing this to them, shouldn't they unify against it, rather than squabble amongst themselves?]
If you'll forgive my asking, what would cause such things?
no subject
[To actually have a conversation with someone of her own kind-- it isn't something she ever thought possible, truthfully. She's never met another like herself until now.
If nothing else, there is at least peace in that.]
Truthfully, I couldn't say. Many are not intelligent enough. Others are slaves to their instincts. I know it is not always true of dragons, but often the ones I battled had no sense for themselves.
Even my broodmother, this was true.
no subject
[It has to be an affliction. Right? What else could possibly explain being able to have a perfectly pleasant conversation with Shyvana, yet her very own mother not being sentient? Or the siblings she presumably has, if she specified a broodmother? Surely they hadn't started out this way, had they?
Honestly, it leaves him at something of a loss. There's nothing even remotely comparable in Fodlan--even being overtaken by monstrous instincts and turning into a Demonic Beast is something that could only ever happen to humans.]
