TDM #14

Welcome! Everything is fine.
Uploading. . . Complete!

The Lobby.
When you open your eyes, there is quite a lot of beige to take in. The unassuming walls of the room you've found yourself in are barren save for a single motivational poster directly in your line of sight. An illuminated sign above an open door on the far wall reads 'lobby exit.'

"Welcome," chimes a polite, synthesized voice. "I'm happy you're here." A moment later comes the clarity of the situation: you have died and so has the world you came from. "This is Amani, your new reality," continues The Peacekeeper. "Everything will be fine."

At least you aren't the only one here, you'll soon find out, as others who are just as confused and concerned as you are might be mingling on the main hub's first floor. Hopefully, you find a familiar face among the crowd. If not, that's all right. You'll get to know quite a few people very well soon enough.
The Infirmary
If you're one of the unlucky few whose death required a bit more intensive re-coding to maintain stability in the simulation, you'll instead awaken on a bed in the infirmary. Everything is strikingly white save for the occasional string of vines with lavender growing in bursts to help keep people calm. Whether or not it works seems to be on a case-by-case basis.

While there is active medical staff, the voice of The Peacekeeper is also there to explain the situation in a more delicate manner to these individuals. It's already stressful enough having to have gone through such a violent death, after all!

If characters want more questions answered, they'll need to speak to The Peacekeeper directly. But first, it will encourage socialization in the main hub and hopefully, you'll find someone you recognize to make taking things in a little easier.
WHAT
The fourteenth Amani TDM!
WHEN
February 14th, 2024 (and until the next TDM!)
KINKS OF THE MONTH
★ Foodplay / Feeding
★ Kissing
★ Public Displays of Affection
★ Multiple Orgasms
★ Body Worship
WHAT'S YOUR DTF STATUS?
If the main hub and its features don't appeal to you, that's perfectly fine. This is the perfect time to configure your Digitized Technical Friend or your DTF status. A DTF is similar to a dæmon from His Dark Materials in that it is connected to and a reflection of a character's soul. These DTFs take shape accordingly and are projections similar to the NPCs. Think of them as your own personal Clippy except less annoying. Hopefully.

Once that's set-up, there are other locations of the main hub to investigate! You can visit the training grounds, music lounge, library, and onsen. Also, feel free to leave an offering for the deity of sleep (Hypnos) at his shrine! You can even visit The Peacekeeper themselves on the second floor. They're always happy to have visitors! They're also conveniently where you might place a complaint about that status of the main hub and its amenities. Even if you do complain, The Peacekeeper will encourage new inhabitants to set off and find their own place to live out in the simulation.

Granted, the housing market in the afterlife isn't exactly robust. It doesn't help that nearly every place you find has a leaky roof or broken window. No, unfortunately, that will need to be fixed the peaceful way. If you'd like more lighting or even cozier clothes, simulation inhabitants are reminded that 'peaceful interactions' are very important!

It might be a good idea to stick close to someone you know, for now, since even the smallest amounts of intimacy might see subtle changes occurring where they're staying. Perhaps that broken window is now fixed, the grime and dust seem a little less, or the floor doesn't creak quite as loud.

Larger changes, however, will only come after demonstrating more powerful peaceful interactions. If you want new hardwood floors or a fresh coat of paint on the walls, you're going to have to demonstrate how well you 'get along' with others against them first.

THE SEXY COMPENDIUM
Upon arrival to Amani, new inhabitants will be notified almost immediately of the sexy compendium that's uploaded to their DTF! This compendium lists all of the flora, fauna, unique geography, and miscellaneous items in Amani that might be worth looking at.

This database will update with seasonal highlights or places and items that might follow a theme! For example, the current theme is love for Valentine's Day and dragons for The Year of The Dragon!

While established inhabitants already know about all these things, it can't hurt to be reminded of what this simulated afterlife has to offer!

The Dragon Onsen » At the onsen, there is an outdoor pool set a bit off from the rest of the hot springs that has a dragon statue in the middle. It doesn't look as well-kept as the rest of the place and the water has a strange blue tint to it... Once one steps into this pool and soaks for a couple of minutes, they will change. It may be gradual or instantaneous, some might completely morph or only gain features but everyone will share a similarity: They suddenly look a lot more draconic than they did before. That's right, this spring is for all us dragonfuckers to let loose. It will, as with most things, only be temporary and last no more than a couple of hours after the initial soak. Have fun while it lasts!

Heart Jellies » In the shallow waters of Taasunni swim a strange species of jellyfish shaped like hearts. If stung by one of these creatures, the sensation will be pleasant rather than painful. It lingers for a while afterwards and will feel like a low-level electric current running through your body that makes it all tingly and warm.

Wyverns » Wyverns are a feral, bipedal lesser cousin to dragonkind. Proud, stubborn, fierce, and intelligent, wyverns are known to be extremely protective--of their territory, members of their social group, and their masters. Highly social and cooperative predators, they nest in the cliffs of Taasunni Beach, and can range far into the Aditus Grasslands to hunt. While most wyverns hunt using sharp talons and fangs or strong tails, a rare few show an innate capacity for magic, capable of churning up cutting winds with their wings or breathing fire or lightning. Those courageous enough to attempt to tame one will find that they are highly perceptive and willful creatures, slow to trust and disinclined to obey any but the most confident and strong of heart. Should anyone successfully earn their respect, however, they can become intensely devoted companions and mounts.

Love Blossoms » During the spring, a handful of trees with gorgeous, pink flowers will blossom starting in Novum and expanding throughout a good portion of the simulation. The pollen of these particular flowers are akin to pheromones that will fill one with insatiable desire. (Sex pollen. It's sex pollen.)
SEXY STAMP CARD
If you're wondering about these 'peaceful interactions' that keep being mentioned or what the kinks of the month are for... Here's your answer! Upon arrival, all characters will receive a digital copy of their very own sexy stamp card.

Sexy Stamp Card
Issued by: The Peacekeeper
1 2 3 4
6 7 8 9

Completing peaceful interactions (i.e. kinks) will reward characters with stamps that they can turn in for re-gains and many other things! While the example one here is the standard issued card by The Peacekeeper, players are more than welcome to customize it how they see fit. Have fun with it! NOTES

★ Feel free to check out the sexy compendium and also use whatever is listed there as you like! What's mentioned on the TDM are just suggestions and not only what's available! We want interested players to be able to make their own fun with what Amani has to offer and not feel limited to just the prompts provided here.

★ We are currently at 24/40 slots taken! Anyone wishing to claim a character must have an invite from someone currently in the game and follow the proper rules in place to be accepted into the community!

[As Kabru's stepping outside of any given building, something that might be mistaken for a big spoon falls, gleaming, from the sky to clatter nearly at his feet. It's not a spoon - it's a mostly stripped feather, like a quill pen, but made of gleaming steel. The intact part at the end is like a blade.

A voice calls down from above.]

Shit. Hey. Hey, groundling, don't touch that!

[I'm sure this is exactly what he wanted - what looks quite a bit like a harpy, though with shining metal feathers and sharp steel teeth, circling lower.

Hisako's features suggest some level of Eastern ancestry, though in her home setting fantasy Japan is actually west of fantasy Europe. She genuinely doesn't want him picking up the feather.]

[ having only recently begun exploring the city, he's still finding that this place is somehow similar to his own world, but equally, wildly different.

the javelin-like feather— look, he only sees a flash of that thing— clatters to the ground, and kabru leaps back, ready to book it in the safest given direction. he's in no position to fight now, and hey— if his world had monsters, there's no reason for this one not to.

the creature circles, and kabru backs away, eyes narrowed at the thing— it has some faint resemblance to the monsters that he saw in the dungeon; humanoid enough, but still a beast. he holds his hands up, already surprised at the fact that it addressed him at all, and steps further back, gaze darting, ready to make his getaway.
]

No harm done, it's all yours.

[ take the— feather, sword thing that you just flung at him.

his cat-thing (so many strange occurrences in this world...), who still doesn't have a name, leaps behind kabru's legs, hissing.

[Oh. It's well controlled and doesn't much show, but she can sense just a touch of fear. Gods and Immortals just don't register to that sense, so it's been a very long time. It's like seeing a red, red flower after so long flying over ocean or snow. It's like if she came across the smell of that fried fish stall from her youth as a human, after all this time.

...just gonna tuck that away. It is a relief that he's not going for the feather, anyway.]

Ugh. Back up, I'm coming in. Tell the kitty I'm not here to eat it.

[Hisako spills air and backwings her way down to ground level. The scales on her feet resemble black iron and sound like armored gauntlets clapped to the ground when she lands. Altogether her metal feathers sound like much like armor clicking against itself with every movement, not loud but it's a present sound. Clearly the feather that fell is either one of hers or from something like her, the primary feathers on her wings are even larger and more swordlike. The human skin on some of her body and her long neck is marked with several dull silver scars.

She is distinctly uneasy about being on the ground, even if she is technically the well-armed one here. Better get this over with. Once Hisako's within a few feet of the feather - she has a bouncy, shuffling, awkward walk, like an oversized vulture - she gives it a look. A trace of red and gold fire appears in two spots on it, reflecting brightly, and it lifts up into the air as if held by an unseen hand.

A kind of amorphous inkblot, initially sort of kite-shaped, glides after her and splatters on the ground. Hisako startles, dropping the feather again and half-raising her wings, and looks at her DTF with consternation as it pulls itself together.]

Can you not crash every time I set down somewhere? That looked like it hurt.

[the inkblot forms a little bulb of a head that opens a mouth and says "Sorry. It didn't." in a small voice.]

[ kabru's innate fear and hatred of monsters, and of anything monster-shaped is— well. welling up. he recalls the demons that walked through utaya, the monsters that had burst forth from the corpses of the fallen. this creature might speak like a human, but many of those things do— he's heard human voices drop from the most fanged of mouths.

he reaches down and picks up his DTF (still referred to by kabru, mentally, as his cat thing), and starts backing up, towards the entrance of the tavern, stepping over the threshold and glancing backwards at the other patrons, as if to check if anyone else is as disturbed by a monster in the center of town.

naturally, they're a tough crowd (being a simulation and all), and he finds that he is the only one whose mouth is hanging open.

pulling himself together somewhat, but still holding the cat protectively to his chest, kabru moves out of the way to allow the creature in. he tries to keep his expression neutral, but he's as wary asa any human would be, seeing a beast like that— and swordless, to boot.
]

I won't get in your way. [ he's lurking backwards still, away from hisako, but keeping his eyes on her, like she's about to bite him. ] I don't want any trouble.

[Hisako would have happily ignored him and been about her way if he'd simply cleared off, but that degree of fear and loathing is... It's not the proper kind, it's not war-fear, but Queen Jachull is right, Hisako can feel the wind and waves of it bracing her, she can read it and taste that it stems from a childhood trauma. If she just listens she can find out more.

Or she could make it grow. She's never used that bit of magic before but it comes as instinct, she could stoke it like a flame and drink it down. Jachull certainly would.

...She'd thought a lot about how she would feel about the enmity between most humans and Stormwings. Exile from the Mortal Realms had happened so early, back when she was still afraid of heights, so early that she'd never had the chance to discover if more than a few people from her old life would want to be part of her new one. This does sting a little but - it's been centuries. Hisako had been young, his age or less, and now there are faint lines on her forehead and around her eyes, and her stomach isn't as tight as it had been.]

Liar.

[About not wanting trouble. Hisako pities him a little and isn't going to turn the terror on him or cut him up unless she's actually attacked first, but she doesn't think there's any point in trying to be sweet or conciliatory right now. Not that those attitudes suit her very well. Little sparks of red-gold fire show again, drawing her hair back into a messy bun, picking up the feather to push through it like a hair stick.]

Good thing you didn't touch this. I'm not in the mood to be responsible for a new chick right now, and you'd be a difficult one.
