Throughout the main hub where everyone congregates, a light chiming echoes through the first floor. "Hello, everyone," comes the synthetic voice from when you first arrived. "Please, watch your step since there's quite a few puddles around. If you'd like, there is cake, some refreshments, and some eggs for you in these trying times. If they feel warmer than usual, that's because they're going to hatch soon!"

While the Peacekeeper doesn't elaborate, as usual, simulation inhabitants are free to notice the eggs that either they gathered or are still littering the simulation are now warm to the touch, give off a faint glow, and may even move subtly now and again if watched.

APRIL SHOWERS

Granted, there are bigger things to worry about such as the storm that's rolling in.

Dark, ominous clouds begin to gather over every piece of sky in the simulation and before long blot out the sun. Sheets of rain begin to pour down almost without warning. Hopefully, you've managed to fix those leaks in your house! Or maybe you're finding new ones...

Lightning splits the sky with a dramatic crackle and thunder booms not long after it. The wind howls and the worst of the storm won't relent for a few hours at the least. Even after, the rain will linger for days on and off to varying degrees of severity.

While the weather has taken a turn for the gloomy, that doesn't mean that simulation inhabitants have to be! In fact, it may feel somewhat refreshing as if the rain is washing away any negativity lingering after The Overseer's masquerade. Whether by her design or not, she - nor The Peacekeeper - will say but it does seem that she wants to keep relations as peaceful between the simulation inhabitants and creators as she can.

ONE FISH, TWO FISH...

The constant rain brings water levels of the rivers and eddies up at an alarming rate. Flooding is inevitable and, hopefully, the place you've claimed as your own isn't in the way. If it is, you might want to get the buckets ready or consider a relocation!

Of course, your buckets might not just be catching water. With the rising water levels, the fish that inhabit the simulation's waters are just as confused as anyone else. Even more confusing is the glitch causing them to transform once they find themselves on solid (mostly) ground.

Thankfully, they don't change into anything harmful. Well, maybe to your teeth since an abundance of sweet treats is bound to cause a cavity or two... Not to mention the other odd effects that food here is known to have.

Eventually, the fish will go back to normal and the glitch corrected; however, any candy collected will remain until it expires naturally.

WHAT'S YOUR DTF STATUS?

If the party and its cake don't appeal to you, that's perfectly fine. This is the perfect time to configure your Digitized Technical Friend or your DTF status. A DTF is similar to a dæmon from His Dark Materials in that it is connected to and a reflection of a character's soul. These DTFs take shape accordingly and are projections similar to the NPCs. Think of them as your own personal Clippy except less annoying. Hopefully.

Once that's set-up, there are other locations of the main hub to investigate! You can still find an (off-key) instrument to play in the music lounge or check out the (algae-ridden) pool.

You can even visit The Peacekeeper themselves on the second floor. They're always happy to have visitors! They're also conveniently where you might place a complaint about that status of the main hub and its amenities.

RAINING CATS AND DOGS

While the fishy foods are odd enough as is, another glitch appears to be occurring throughout the simulation but this time originates not from the rain but The Peacekeeper's humble musings. "Did you know," speaks the resident AI, "that there is an expression called 'raining cats and dogs'? I think that's such a curious saying! It made me wonder what it might actually look like..."

Following the strange, unexpected 'announcement,' inhabitants may begin to notice large globs of water falling periodically from the sky now amidst the regular rain. When they hit the ground with a large splash, nothing is there... at first. The water will burst apart only to reassemble into a canine or feline friend. Well, it's shaped like a dog or a cat.

Due to the sudden nature of their spawning though, some things aren't quite right. Perhaps that cat has only three legs instead of four; a dog may be missing an eye, an ear, or even its tail. And those are the more tame oddities! While the unique animals aren't overly abundant there are still a good number that spawn across the days of rain. Don't be surprised if a dog takes up shelter from the storm on your porch or you come home to a cat you don't own having climbed through a loose window.

While this might be exactly the addition to your home that you wanted, it doesn't change the leaky roof or broken window in your new place. Or, unfortunately, the fact that there's no extra space for a pet yet. No, unfortunately that will still need to be fixed the peaceful way. If you'd like more lighting or even cozier clothes, simulation inhabitants are reminded that 'peaceful interactions' are very important!

It might be a good idea to stick close to someone you know, for now, since even the smallest amounts of intimacy might see subtle changes occurring where they're staying. Perhaps that broken window is now fixed, the grime and dust seem a little less, or the floor doesn't creak quite as loud.

Larger changes, however, will only come after demonstrating the more powerful peaceful interactions. If you want new hardwood floors or a fresh coat of paint on the walls, you're going to have to demonstrate how well you 'get along' with others against them first.

SEEING PINK

ear the end of the week, the rain finally relents and temperatures continue to gradually increase. Those May flowers can't quite seem to wait though since several of the trees lining the edge of the forest bloom brilliant pink blossoms that a DTF will be able to identify as love blossoms. While the blooms won't last very long, they certainly are using all the time they have to take over.

The pollen is one thing. It may start out as just a tickle in your nose or stuffy head but eventually turns into something much more lovely. You're tickled pink about almost everything, it seems, and want to share that happiness with others. And who needs rose-colored glasses when almost everywhere one looks there's a string of love blossoms blooming?

These invasive flowers are in your garden, along the vines in the city, and even sprawling through the main hub! It actually seems almost impossible to avoid them. The Peacekeeper assures inhabitants that it isn't purposeful and just the natural cycle of the love blossoms.

Enjoy the mood-lifting and groin-tingling effects while they last! The love blossoms will only linger for a few days, at most, before receding back to the forest line and eventually falling dormant again until next spring.

Completing peaceful interactions (i.e. kinks) will reward characters with stamps that they can turn in for re-gains and many other things! "Mm." Sephiroth closes his eyes, and Genesis will be able to see the tension in him even if no one else can - not just from proximity, but from practice in reading his tells. Sephiroth is already fighting to control himself, no doubt wanting to rock into Genesis' hand but holding still.

"...understood."

"Good boy," Genesis praises without any condescension. The firm line of Sephiroth's jaw tells him he really is forcing himself to obey, and Genesis can reward that.

He supposes he should have enough mercy to get to what they really want though. So he moves from kneading at Sephiroth's cock to actually freeing it from the fabric. With the way he's pressed close, he can't quite see it, but firm heat against his hand is more than enough of a tell.

Genesis shifts higher onto his thighs, and gets his pants down just far enough that he can slip the other's length between his legs. The redhead seats himself on it a single motion to make it less obvious. Thank the Goddess for their oversized coats shielding them, really- but Genesis still gasps quietly no matter how hard he fights it back. A hand comes over his mouth to stifle anything further as he settles around the thick length inside him.

Another sharp breath from Sephiroth is the only tell of his own that he offers. He leans forward slightly, head resting against Genesis' shoulder. For a moment, he glances down at their laps, trying to see where they're joined, but then closes his eyes again; he thinks if he sees that, holding still will become an impossibility. This feels too good already, a white-hot fire down his spine.

"So quick," he says, with the faintest quirk of his lips. "Did I work you up that fast...?" Genesis certainly seemed to be able to take him in easily...

Sephiroth teasing him like that earns him a tight squeeze around his length. While still expecting obedience, of course. He sure thinks he's making some kind of point there.

"Really, I want whatever the hell you've had to drink tonight, because it certainly lit a fire in you," Genesis half-hisses, half whispers back to him. That tone, those looks, that demand to be in his lap? How could Genesis not be wet? "Couldn't be helped."

"Mmh - " Sephiroth bites his lip as Genesis tightens around him. It's one thing to have control demanded of him, it's another to have it tested like this.

"Behind you," he rasps out. "If you want it." There's maybe half the glass of sangria left.

Genesis doesn't dare lean back, even if he checks over his shoulder. If he moves, the coat will obviously follow. Besides, "ah, not quite what I was after." The sangria he knows the effect of, he'd already had a bit during his separation from Sephiroth, confirmed by his idle chattering about.

So what the hell had gotten into Sephiroth to be so, well, infuriatingly seductive, with that dark tone?

"Mm, I'll worry about it later," he mutters, and noses against Sephiroth's neck. "Still just impressed you're so eager to have me like this, in a bar no less."

"That's what I had," Sephiroth says, trying to focus on this more mundane conversation. It helps him keep still. "That and the cake that came with it."

Sephiroth is aware of drinks being able to be spiked, but the idea of food being laced somehow as well isn't one that's occurred to him. Or, at least, it hasn't occurred to him one can do that with cake.

"I always want you. Some times more than others." And never, it feels, more than right now.

Ah, there's food involved, and naturally it'll be laced. Genesis is finding that is simply the nature of this world, really. Anything to acquire cooperation from the inhabitants.

"I'm not so used to toxins impacting us anymore." Genesis also attempts to keep the conversation light. Being full like this is already a near-impossible task not to react to. But it does feel right in a way that's perhaps too primal to describe. The warmth that floods him he can't exactly contribute to the liquor anymore.

"Mm, that was quite the way to display it then. Nearly had me swooning then and there."

"I thought we might be immune." Sephiroth huffs out a breath against Genesis' shoulder that could be a literal huff, or a noiseless laugh. "Or not very affected. I was wrong."

He looks up at Genesis then, one eye visible beneath silver bangs, and ever so slightly shifts his hips. The movement will be imperceptible to anyone else...but Genesis will certainly feel it. "I can do more than that." It's half promise, half entreaty. Give him the chance to do more than that.

Goddess above, he's really dug himself into this one. That smoldering look is back, and Genesis makes the mistake of trying to hold it just a fraction too long. A soft, strangled noise has to be bitten back just keep the façade when Sephiroth shifts. It eventually drags itself out as a thin whimper when Genesis ducks his head down.

"Then do so," Genesis still, still, bites back. Stubborn or eager, it doesn't matter, he wants this.

"Mm?" Sephiroth gives another minute shift. Just a bit more obvious, still practically invisible. "What happened to discreet?" Strangely, it's almost easier to control himself when he's focused on taking Genesis apart. He makes a careful note of this - with the mental equivalent of highlighter, several circles, an underline, and multiple exclamation points.

"I am trying," Genesis grits out, attempting to keep a shiver from making him visibly shake with it. Unfortunately, tensing his entire body also means squeezing around Sephiroth too. He lays his head down on Sephiroth's shoulder, nearly slumped in his lap when it accentuates just how full he feels. And just how much he's basking in the feeling even without proper motion to carry the pleasure. "But someone is making it rather difficult. On purpose, no less."

"Ah. My mistake." Sephiroth smirks a bit. "Then just now...you weren't inviting me to...?" Genesis is free to interpret that as he will, but in context, if he's able to focus enough to replay their conversation in his head...he might realize that Sephiroth actually took his remark as a suggestion to do his worst. The mere fact that he didn't immediately do so - long enough for this clarifying moment to occur - and that he actually double-checked to make sure it was what Genesis wanted...it speaks worlds of his dedication to Genesis and following his instructions.

"Goddess above- really?" Genesis gasps out, chasing a breathless laugh. It's times like these he's immeasurably grateful of their enhanced hearing because if he had to bring his voice any louder he's sure it'd strangle him.

"Not yet, at least," Genesis relents after a moment, letting himself relax against the silver. Not yet, because he wants to prolong their little stunt, play out this fantasy awhile longer. "Ruining it with an early finish wouldn't be fun. You've already gotten me this riled being so bold, indulging me so. Be still, enjoy it with me."

Sephiroth has to chuckle as well, despite himself, still resting his head against Genesis' shoulder. It's difficult to control himself, feeling Genesis' wet heat around him, but...between his own iron dedication to giving Genesis whatever pleases him, and simply talking to him like this, he's able to bear it. "Your own fault for being unclear. Always so indirect..."

He's tempted to give one of those tiny shifts again, but then Genesis says 'be still', and he obeys. Instead, he turns his head to lightly nip at Genesis' neck. "However long you want...but I hope it's not too long."

"Direct is crass, and I am anything but," Genesis fires back. The mild annoyance he feigns is probably transparent, but he still does it anyway. Mostly because it helps center him from that teetering edge of pleasure his body seems so intent to leap from.

"Mm," he hums, and carefully reaches back for his own drink. Again, he doesn't dare shift the coat, but manages to snag the glass anyway. He takes a shallow sip, and smirks over the rim at Sephiroth with the implication of clearly dragging this out. "Long enough to finish my drink. I'm still curious to what it does."

"Possibly," Sephiroth drawls, exhaling against Genesis' neck, "it inclines the drinker to torment their loved ones. Based on the evidence."

Genesis huffs out a thin laugh.

"Is that so?" He takes another tiny sip of his drink. No matter how much control he attempts to play at, his voice is still a touch breathless. "I am tormenting you? When you were the one purring that sultry tone and pulling me into your lap? With how you fill me like this? I dare say this is simply getting even, my slipstream."

"You act like I wouldn't have given you what you wanted as soon as you asked," Sephiroth replies, cocking an eyebrow at him. "Getting you worked up isn't the same as teasing you. As making you wait."

"That's not the point," Genesis attempts to half-argue, half-explain. "That's the entire appeal of a fantasy; you can't simply ask for it." But he can follow a promising lead, and then tease and taunt Sephiroth into said fantasy, now can't he?

"Oh?" Sephiroth smirks at him. "Then this is something you've thought about..." He lifts a hand to brush gloved fingers through Genesis' hair. "I should have realized...you had the idea so ready."

"Often," Genesis breathes out, painfully honest without his head catching up to his mouth. Normally he'd hiss and resist such a thing to save face, yet it spills so easily now. "Wondered how it might feel, being taken where others might see. Where others might know intimately that I am yours."

Ah. Hearing that hits Sephiroth strongly enough that his hips twitch slightly upwards - not enough to make it obvious what they're doing, but a shift people would certainly be able to note if they were watching them. "So you've thought about me in particular doing this to you," he breathes. His initial assumption was that it was a generic fantasy, that Genesis had merely pictured doing this with someone, but to think he'd dreamed of this scenario with Sephiroth specifically...

He likes that far too much.

"Fuck-" Genesis hisses out like the air has been punched from his lungs. It may as well have, given his entire body shivers and nearly goes limp against Sephiroth's chest. He has no idea why he's so weak to this, given his usual rough and hungry approach to sex, but Goddess above it's ruining him.

"Yes," and for some reason keeps admitting more. Another thing he can't quite pinpoint why, but doesn't let it stop him. "Always wondered if I could push you to it, make you want me enough to forget where we were." Whatever has decided to compel Genesis pushes him again, and he tightens around Sephiroth.

"There's so many fantasies about you..."

"You could," Sephiroth affirms, as he works a hand beneath Genesis' coat. His fingers are seeking either to grip Genesis' hip leather to skin, or as close to it as he can manage under the circumstances. "Even without this. Just by seducing me...or by asking." He really would do anything for Genesis - to ridiculous extremes.

As desperately as he wants to move, as badly as he wants to shove Genesis down and claim him here and now, hot and rough until Genesis is begging...he keeps himself still. Right now, that's what Genesis wants him to do...or at least what he's told Sephiroth he wants him to do. As long as Sephiroth is in conscious control of his hips, he's going to hold to that.

"Tell me," he says, his voice a low rasp. "I want to know what else you've wanted me to do to you..."
