[It isn't that he doesn't have faith in Claude, or Byleth--or in Dimitri, assuming any given version of the man is sane. He even has faith in Hubert's meticulous spying and contingency planning. But once bitten, twice shy, as they say--the Agarthans are as cunning and deceitful as they are treacherous. He wouldn't be surprised if they had some manner of weapon stockpiles or a secondary living space to hedge their bets, apart from their main base of operations. If they still had such options at their disposal, and any survivors had chosen an overwhelmingly destructive manner to enact their revenge.....
