[Niles only gets halfway to standing by the time Byleth decks him, meaning the impact gets him badly off balance and he topples to the ground. He wasn't expecting that, but maybe he should have been. Corrin promised not to tell Leo, but this man clearly knew enough of what happened to pass some much needed justice. Corrin's all encompassing ability to forgive was truly impressive, but when it came to himself it left Niles with a bad taste in his mouth.
Byleth's been kind enough to replace it with the taste of blood. Niles resists, but only to make sure the punches keep coming. Some people get turned off from beating someone not fighting back. He kicks at him when Byleth mounts him, but makes no attempt to buck him off or roll from underneath him. He blocks a punch here and there, and every strike he returns with is a sloppy opening in his guard. His pathetic aim is believable though, as he's got his head turned flat against the thankfully carpeted floor, good eye down, blind socket up to receive his punishment.]
