"Months?" He echoes, not looking at Ignis but off into some distant place in his mind, too caught off guard to completely mask the despair in his voice.

There's no real explanation for just what they're meant to do here, at least not one that's made any sense to him yet. If there's so much to do that even Ignis speaks of it as a difficult task then he has no doubt it is.

"There always is." Quiet and resigned, those blue eyes dull when he finally returns his gaze to the boy, denim worn thin enough to begin unraveling. His expression hardens a little, drawing on that seemingly endless well of fortitude as he pushes himself to the edge of the couch, sitting up properly, leaning forward as though he expects to be pulled into a strategy meeting here and now.
