"Ah, yes, the... currency of this place." He says it with obvious distaste. Apparently, the way Amani actually works isn't all that appealing. He isn't alone, of course, and doesn't judge anyone else for their proclivities. He just won't be engaging in anything intimate himself if he can avoid it.

Oh, that is an interesting bit of a shift once he steps through the threshold. Some kind of ward, is it? It seems to not deter him currently but perhaps because he's been let in. Although tempted to test it someday, he doesn't say anything for now. In fact, all he does at first is look around.

"I can still enjoy mortal pleasures but they aren't a necessity. One of those pleasures is a good beignet. Although I doubt it'll be anything like my mother used to make, well- You seem to know your stuff! Maybe it'll be a second favorite."
