[ kabru falls into step with laios, marginally aware that they're now heading to the bakery. he's already been this way with mithrun— upon their little excursion to the elf's new workplace, and the bakery is— a somewhat awkward, though familiar location. he's not averse to seeing mithrun, though; they'd had their difficulties at first, but the elf remains his closest tie to his old life, aside from the king himself. if laios asks, naturally, everything will be just peachy— kabru being kabru, but he is now armed with the knowledge that mithrun gave him in the library; this laios didn't seem to know what he was talking about when he called him your majesty.

a laios that hasn't yet become king?

kabru places the cat back down, glancing up at laios.
] It's probably, uh. The two heads thing, yeah. [ his poor cat.

she's trailing after beofluff now, though, and hissing each time the dog looks back at her. but also. she's not trying to scratch him, and she isn't running away. weird.
] Mithrun offered to speak to his housemates on my behalf. It's comfortable, we don't have much trouble with sharing.

[ in fact, the sense of routine with mithrun seems to have calmed him significantly from his more frantic first day. the circumstances of the dungeon were just as outrageous as this place; it helps, to have his focus shifted to another person, instead of himself. the bakery stands before them now, and kabru gives laios a stupid, courtly bow, just from the waist— a little ironic, like he's not being entirely serious. ]

After you, your majesty. [ he straightens, sniffs a laugh. ] Sorry, force of habit. You see, you're king in the time period I came from. [ just spoilers for the whole of dungeon meshi right there. you know kabru's the type to give you an absolutely ruinous spoiler as if it were nothing.

that blue gaze does dart towards the interior of the bakery, as if he's looking for someone, just for a second.

he hadn't warned mithrun that they were coming— and while he's decently sure the elf won't mind, kabru's a creature of all sorts of courtesies. social graces, you see; they matter to him.
]

I should probably have warned Mithrun, hm.
