During this entire trip, Prompto kept his hand clasped around Ignis'. It really did come naturally- enough so that he just doesn't realize until they're in the stables proper, meaning they'd been like that for at least ten minutes with no protest or indication of anything from Ignis. He looks like a puppy startled by his own loud sneeze as it dawns on him. Crap! Oh crap, see, this is a Later Ignis thing! Maybe not even that! He swears, this Amani place has messed him up in the head in some ways. Or maybe it is really just because this is Iggy, and he cannot help himself.

"S-sorry-" he mumbles, pulling his hand away, desperate to play it all off as quickly as he can. Wow, he really is messing up like a champ today. He scurries over to the nearest bird to lavish it with pets. "I mean, what Noct and I did was we said hello to all the birds and saw if any stood out. Look for a connection. Mine tried to preen my hair, can you believe that?! His name is Velox. Fastest bird in the sim."

There's one particular chocobo that seems quieter than the rest. Understated, it watches the pair rather closely whilst the others kweh for attention. It ruffles its feathers, but makes no moves otherwise.
