That's right, Gladio better take a step away. Ignis doesn't quite elbow him, but only because by the time he'd shifted his arm so that he didn't spill his groceries, he'd realized that his boyfriend had long stepped away. Doesn't get rid of the dead eyed stare of disappointment, however.

He'll remember you saying that, buddy.

But revenge is one of those dishes best served cold, so he leaves it, returning to his own bag. "What would be the point in wondering?" he asks, nudging aside some loaves of bread. "There's no doubt he had it, after all, and he has made indications on ways it could be different. Either one day my baking will finally click his memories into place... or he will have found some variation of what I have made to be preferable to those memories."

And Ignis, in his own quiet way, wouldn't mind either option.

Finally, he pulls out what he was looking for. "As for the fruit, it is apparently by far the least unusual thing here. From what the baker said, it is likely the tree which is far more strange on its own. Here." He holds out a simple purple apple.
