swordlily: (I do whatever it takes)

"Oh, so you're making Cup Noodle?" Gladio takes care not to quite stand within Ignis' elbow range as he says this, grinning. "Seriously, though, if you want tips for Prom, I can give 'em to you. I had the benefit of traveling with him for a year; I know which dishes of yours he liked best."

Normally he'd chide Iggy a little for spoiling Noct, feeding him only the things he likes(usually meat or fish with no vegetables in sight); sure, Ignis tries to sneak a veggie in every now and then, or puts them on Noct's plate in a show of unwarranted optimism, but he hardly ever cracks the whip if the prince refuses outright. He lets Noct get away with too much, in Gladio's opinion. But, well, today...Gladio can understand the lenience. Besides, he expects that Iggy will at least start up his veggie attempts again soon enough.

"Honestly, Noct was so young when he had that pastry that I really wonder how reliable his memory on it even is." Gladio folds his arms over his prodigious chest. "You ever wonder if you're shooting for a target you can't hit because Noct doesn't really know what you're aiming for either?" This isn't really a serious objection - Gladio knows how much this pastry quest means to the both of them, and certainly isn't suggesting they give it up. He's more idly speculating as to whether there is a true right answer, or if Iggy should simply be searching for a dessert Noct loves in the current moment.

"Orchard, huh? I've seen one in town. Weirdest trees you've ever laid eyes on. I hadn't actually spotted any bearing fruit, though." He moves closer to Iggy. "Just how strange is the fruit?" Considering the flat fruit, Gladio's prepared for just about anything.
