It's nostalgic, all this snowy weather. Reminds Cloud of his childhood, and of the Modeoheim mission when he first met Zack. He remembers Zack's complaining about the cold, and how happy he was to be noticed and praised by a SOLDIER, and how easy it was to talk to Zack despite their huge gap in rank. More hazily, he vaguely remembers sledding down hills on the outskirts of Nibelheim and snowboarding and skiing in the mountains' foothills.

So he's a bit quiet on his walk with Squall, but not down - just thoughtful. At least, until they stroll past a long row of snowmen - or, in one case, a snow duck? - and Cloud blinks and stops in his tracks, which ends up halting Squall too considering they've been walking with their hands linked.

"Uh...those two snowmen look familiar to you, or...?" He gestures with his chin toward a pair of them standing next to each other, one with recognizably spiky hair (although Cloud thinks it looks a little exaggerated, personally) and a taller one with a distinct fluffy collar and...are those real belts?
