Jean opens her mouth once but no word-sounds manage to escape. A second attempt proves equally fruitless. It's only after a measured breath and slow exhalation that she is actually able to speak.

"So, to sum up, your plan comes down to us... being intimate. Physically. Out in the open where anyone could find us. I--no. No, I can't do that! There has to be another way."

There isn't another way. But, as Albedo observed, Jean is a new arrival and these things take time to wrap your head around, especially when you're both a workaholic and a virgin. Finding out that you have to fuck your subordinate coworker in a cave to escape its unnecessarily sticky walls is a lot to take in.

She doesn't lose her cool, at least. She's the acting grand master of the Knights of Favonius--you don't get handed the reins like that without having a level head. Instead, she falls silent, reviewing all the facts in the most excruciating detail she can manage, hoping she can arrive at some conclusion other than what Albedo has spelled out for her.

It's a losing battle.
