Despite knowing this is probably a terrible plan, of course Claude decides to explore the mines. He manages to avoid some of the more dubious rocks, but he does pick up one of the sort of rainbow ones. Anise helps him shine a light on it, chirping happily that he should just follow it.
But…this isn't the exit. All it does is lead him to another person, perhaps one who also has an Iris Agate, perhaps not.
"Anise, I thought you said this was the way out," he says. To whoever he's found, he continues, "Sorry about this. Looks like this stone's a dud."
CRYSTAL LAKE
Claude can never just not look. So here he is, peering into the depths of the water. He actually doesn't expect to see anything, not a reflection, just…straight down. The water seems pretty clear.
Though…well, all right, he also kind of expects to see some vision of an orgy or something. Amani really is just that kind of place.
What he sees instead is himself, sure, cleaned up and dressed like he would back home. But next to him in the water is Byleth. It's not actually clear from the reflection which one of them it is. Could go either way. Huh, that will…take some unpacking at some point.
As it is, Claude doesn't look away. He glances up to make sure that the former teacher(s) in question isn't there for real, but nope. He's alone for the moment. Admitting feelings to himself isn't easy, but he's already pretty aware of this particular feeling. So after a few minutes, a tiny flask washes up. Of course he takes it. Though by now, he's probably not alone anymore.
He looks up and pastes a very believable smile onto his face.
"You probably won't see what you think in there, but it's worth a look."
[ If you're existing CR, feel free to encounter him earlier and press him about his own vision. ]
