There is a glare at the mention of the war. Sure casualties happen but to pass them off as if they are nothing to worry about is just something he can't do. Every life is important and Dimitri won't stop caring about those who passed.

"Yes...you were on my side..." He sighs and runs a hand through his own hair, annoyance on his face. "If I didn't pay you would have either ran, never to be seen again or died at my blade. The choice was obvious." Azure eyes glared through the mess of blond bangs covering his face. "I did end up trusting you enough to become my spymaster..."

His hand drops and so does the glare, replaced with a look of fondness. "You were very good at it, I enjoyed our talks on reformations as well."
