"Yes." Sephiroth's eyes go soft. Between Genesis and himself, the term 'mate' is often used...but somehow that doesn't seem quite right to use around outsiders. So partner it is. "A man named Genesis. We met in the military, along with a third friend. The two of them...they saw me, strange and isolated, and determined to be my friends whether I wanted it or not." His smile turns into more of a smirk. "They certainly succeeded. They were my first friends, and they taught and showed me countless things I'd never gotten to experience before. They meant everything to me." His eyes cloud briefly. "Events...sundered us, back in our world. Genesis began undergoing molecular degradation, his mind essentially falling apart, and he defected and started a war. The third friend followed him, and eventually died...and then I lost my own mind, and was killed in turn." He huffs a breath through his nose. "The more accurate term might actually be 'was put down'."

He shakes his head, and a small smile returns. "But here...the two of us were able to reunite, with both our sanities returned. And we mean more to each other now even than we did before." His gaze flicks to Zechs, amused. "He's charming, verbose, handsome, has a fondness for magic...and has a certain flair for the dramatic. As I said, Lorenz reminds me of him."
