"Mm..." Sephiroth strokes his hand over Genesis' abdomen. "So it wasn't something you did for me personally..." Strange, how he feels like that's a disappointment somehow. He can't begin to define it, but there's an appeal to thinking of Genesis letting himself be filled up by Angeal just to derive secret, subversive pleasure of parading around like that in front of Sephiroth specifically...is it just that it means Genesis' desire, his attention, would have been focused on Sephiroth, or is it more than that? It's difficult to parse, especially when he's almost too tired to think, but he at least knows what he'd been hoping to hear.
At least Genesis is explicitly clear that he'd have loved to attend those formal functions in front of all those ShinRa executives they hated with Sephiroth's seed inside him. That's an attractive thought, and one of the few ways Sephiroth can think of that those functions could have been made actually enticing. Although, honestly, thinking and knowing how Genesis was strutting around, claimed by him and glorying in it...Sephiroth doesn't know how long they'd actually spend at such an event before he'd be dragging Genesis off somewhere. How had Angeal managed it?
(Granted, it occurs to him that Genesis and Angeal had often bowed out of those functions earlier than himself - something he'd never thought much of beyond their being more easily able to get away with it, not being SOLDIER's poster child, and not liking the functions much - and so Angeal probably hadn't managed it very well at all.)
"I would have liked that," he murmured. "Though claiming you around unsavory types like that...would be more because we enjoyed it than marking territory. None of them would have a chance in hell with you anyway." He can't even get himself possessive thinking about it, and he doesn't need much excuse. But he can't even pretend to perceive anyone who would attend a ShinRa formal function as even theoretical competition for Genesis.
