Byleth can tell that it takes him a moment to wrap his brain around there being multiples of the same person. Same, honestly, it was a trip for her too. She doesn't mention that hers wasn't even an isolated case. He's sure to run I to her students at some point.

"It isn't actually all that difficult. At this point I have a pretty high bar for strangeness. Just another oddity to add to the list." She watches him with interest as he delicately pets the cat; she's doing the same but in a much more absent-minded way. It's endearing, she thinks. "It's nice to meet you, Sephiroth."

When he questions her, Byleth's lips purse slightly, her head canting to meet his eyes.

"Well, I've been called the 'Ashen Demon' since I was twelve years old," she begins to explain, knowing that earning an ominous moniker like that at such a tender age is rather out of the ordinary. "I was raised as a mercenary. I could swing blade almost as soon as I could walk. People were afraid of me because I was never expressive like most children. They said I was unnatural."
