[ at the compliment, there's a ruddy flush that touches his cheeks and for a moment, wayland isn't sure where the warmth comes from. all he knows is that the air is sweet and he's shifting to turn a bit more. the guy is stacked, muscles down his arms, along his sides and belly. over his chest, a pair of wolves, one emerging from the reeds, another with a lizard in its smiling jaws. a leaping hare flees upwards along the front of his bicep, dodging the snakes, almost in motion despite being stamped into his skin.
of course, in turning, he reveals a pretty ugly-looking scar that looks almost like someone tried to gut him. on his collar bone, straight, thick cuts lay there as well, healed over stark against his darker skin.
he hesitates. because he looks at the other and feels his stomach twist warmly. oh.
