zechs_isonfire: (prince - solemn)

Before Zechs could point out that 'not a jerk' was also, terribly, subjective - that's a note of clarity. Not partial about looks. Was this man concerned about his appearance? Perhaps he'd been rather unfairly maligned due to how he looked before. Curious. It's all conjecture, anyway. He nodded his head.

"I find that individual tastes run the gamut on what appearances they prefer as well," Zechs pointed out. "In addition, there are plenty of non-human persons who voice concerns they are too strange to be appealing, or so they've told me. While my words mean extremely little, I find you as attractive as most people kidnapped to this place."

He's not flattering him - that's supposed to be a note of reassurance, offered without overtures toward Glenn in his state right now. A calm statement of fact.

The second part had ... far more emotional weight, and Zechs frowned. He didn't feel good about navigating such things. He looked at his tea as well, just for a moment, before he glanced up at his guest.

"I can't tell you your best course of action," Zechs told him calmly. "We've only met, and I'm terrible at advice all the same. But - I believe you should have the ability to choose whether to cooperate with this place. I don't believe that will be easy. The Peacekeeper has a singular goal in mind, and it's already attempting to twist you to meet it. If you wanted to wait until it was your decision to engage, that is your right."

"But," Zechs told him, "when you reach that point, if you have concerns ... you're not the only one sent to a place like this with relative inexperience. Find someone patient. Find someone who will respect what you say, despite what the Peacekeeper does. That is what I would do, if I was in a similar position to you."
