Link isn't really the kind of person to worry about patterns and things. He goes where he's needed and does what feels right. Or, sure, sometimes he has someone/something to guide him. But since waking up in Hyrule after 100 years, he's been largely stumbling around on his own with only a few clues left and huge chunks of missing memories. Analysing situations is something he figures he can leave up to other people.
Though without any weapons here, he's a bit at a loss. Solving problems by fighting them apparently isn't going to work? Sounds fake.
